Is there a service charge to use the Outdress platform?
Nope, we don't charge a cent. The price listed on the rental, is the price you pay! 

How do I make a booking?
Simply check the items 'Availability' calender! We recommend getting in touch with the Lender before making a formal request, that way you can confirm payment, bond, meet-up and cleaning options. 

I've made a request, now what?
Wait for the Lender to confirm your booking! Just send them a reminder message if it's urgent.

How do I cancel a booking?
If you wish to cancel a booking you must contact the Lender of the item and ask them to cancel the booking -- this is so everyone is kept in the loop!

Do I have to Dry Clean the dress?
Dry Cleaning is either 'Included' or 'Not Included' in the listing price. If it's not included, it's up to you to Dry Clean the item.

What if I stain or accidently damage the item?
Opps.. we understand accidents happen. However, as in our T&C's, the Borrower is responsible for the Item during the rental period. So, you the Borrower shall bear all cleaning, repair or replacement costs. But rest assured, most stains come out.

What happens to my bond?
If the Lender takes a bond as security during the rental transaction and the item is returned in the same or better condition, the full amount must be refunded. However, if the item is not returned in the same condition, the bond may be used to repair or replace the item.

How do I contact the owner?
1. Go to 'Bookings'
2. Click on their name
3. Hit 'Message' 

When do I return the item?
On or before the 'return date'. In fact, try to organise the time, place or postage plans prior to picking-up/recieving the item!
After you return the item, the Lender will mark it as 'Returned' and you'll be able to 'Rate' each other out of 5 stars. 


What items from my wardrobe should I list?
Designer dresses, suits, bridal wear, maternity, classy kids clothes, costumes, even accessories. 
We recommend listing your 'favourite' pieces! Just make sure they're less than 5 years old and have a RRP value above $150. 

How much do I rent the item for?
The going rate, is around 20% of the RRP. However, we recommend starting the price slightly lower to attract interest. And besides, you can always adjust the price later. 

I've listed an item, why isn't it live yet?
We review every item that's posted on Outdress. Once we 'Approve' your listing, we will send you a confirmation email. If you haven't heard from us in 24 hours, just send us a message!

I have a Booking Request, what do I do now?
You must either, Accept or Decline the Borrower’s booking request within 1 day (24 hours) from when the request is made. If you want to make contact with the Borrower before making a decision, simply send them a message! To save any confusion, it's important to confirm the following: 

  • Price for the Rental;
  • Payment terms;
  • Time when the Item shall be picked-up and returned;
  • Pick up and return location;
  • Cleaning instructions;
  • Bond arrangements;
  • Any other Rental terms.

Who takes care of the Dry Cleaning?
That's totally your decision. Simply list your preference on your listing.

Who arranges Postage or Pick-up?
It is important you talk to the Renter and exchange details as well as Postage/Pick-up plans and Payment. If you are posting the item, make sure you include a return satchel (ensuring your address details are written on the front).

What do I do if the Borrower stains or damages my item?

How do I get more Rentals?
Our top performing Lenders use STUNNING photos. So, make sure your pics are beautiful, well lit & professional looking. Coat hangers, dark photos & creased clothes are a NO-NO.
Be super descriptive and make sure your Instagram account is linked so the Borrower can verify you're a real person! You can update your details in the 'Profile' section.
Make sure the item is less than 5 years old and has a RRP value above $150. 

Can I edit a listing after it's posted? 
Absolutely! Follow these steps:
1. Go to 'Wardrobe'
2. Click on the item you want to 'Edit'
3. 'Edit' the listings Details or Photos. 

Should I 'Rate' the Borrower after the item is returned?
Yes! It's important to rate one another. We want to ensure our community is thriving with the right people.
You can 'Rate' the Borrower once you mark the item as 'Renturned'. 
1. Go to 'Bookings'
2. Click the 'Confirmed' tab
3. Find the item and click 'Manage'
4. Mark the item as 'Returned'
5. Now go to the 'Completed' tab
6. Rate the Borrower out of 5 stars!
